ERG Controls-YIKA was founded by Batuhan Ergör and Mehmet Ergör in 2020 at ITU Teknokent and digitalizes hand hygiene monitoring in hospitals and food facilities. YIKA, an AI-powered platform, prevents hospital infections and food contamination by monitoring employees' hand hygiene activities to ensure compliance and safety.

YIKA is a software service that makes hand hygiene monitoring uninterrupted and actionable with its smart badges, sensors, camera modules and web dashboard. It digitizes this process, which is mandatory to follow and is done by humans in the health and food sector, rapidly increases hand hygiene compliance, and reduces the spread of hospital infections and foodborne outbreaks, which cause hundreds of thousands of deaths and billions of dollars in annual financial losses, by ~50%.
